Pair of locals are top 10 archers nationally

Local archers Andrew Taylor and Jeremy Bryant finished top-10 nationally in the Archery Shooter’s Association.
Taylor, who is a Bowling Green School student, was fourth in middle school pins.
Bryant, who also goes to Bowling Green School, recorded a seventh-place finish in middle school pins.
Austin Forbes, who is at Bowling Green School, took 13th in high school pins.
Richard Boudreaux, who is a Pine High School student, was 21st in high school pins.
All four archers compete for the TRU Archery Team. The three from Bowling Green makes up Bowling Green’s Archery team.
“We’re very proud of our team competing nationally,” Bowling Green Team Sponsor and TRU Archery Team Sponsor Shannon Forbes said.
The National Archer of the Year is decided over the course of the season. Archers’ three top scores over the first five meets are used along with the ASA Classic in Metropolis, Ill. that took place Aug. 1-4.
The TRU Archery Team is holding the Bow Hunter Blow Out on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 37378 Louisiana Highway 1056 in Mt. Hermon.
The group will have shots from ground blinds, tree stands, a long shoot and door prizes.
The event has two start times at 7 a.m. and 10 a.m.
The team will also have their raffle tickets for sale. Tickets are $2.
