Dustin Wager was victorious in the 23rd-annual Milltown Classic that took place Saturday, June 29 in Cassidy Park.
Wager won the 5K run/walk in 18 minutes, 51 seconds.
Wager was followed by Raymond McGriggs and Aden Hartzog. McGriggs ran the race in 21:08 and Hartzog was at 21:37.
This year’s event featured 23 participants and helped raise money for the Bogalusa Rotary Club.
“We had great weather and Rotary wants to thank everybody who participated,” Race Director Brad Lewis said. “The race helps with our activities and our scholarships.”
The top three women runners were Jennifer Veazey, Laura Dantin and Sarah Stewart.
Veazy ran the event in 26:46 while Dantin was at 27:45 and Stewart clocked a 31:02.
In the walkers, Dr. HK Tabari was the male winner.
Tabari was followed by Phillip Bedwell.
Katie Ritchie was the top female walker.
Age divisions were from 1-18 and then every 10 years after that.
The top three males in the 1-18s are Wager, Hartzog and Lewis.
Raymond McGriggs topped the 19-29s with Caleb Kimble coming in second place.
Josh Pounds was victorious in the 30-39 year old age group. Jeremy Thomas was second and Ross Lambert was third.
Randy Veazey was the 40-49 year old winner.
In the females’ 1-18 year old age group, Lily Smith was the winner.
Dantin won the 30-39s with Stewart coming in second and Sarah Miller was third.
Veazy was first in the 40-49s and Ritchie was runner up.
Linda Keller captured the 50-59 age group. Linda Scroggs was second.
