Franklinton cleanup event

A cleanup event will be held in Franklinton on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Old Doc’s Diamond/Demon Stadium. Come join the Franklinton Police Department, Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office and members of the Franklinton Demon Football Team as they participate in a community cleanup event.

Bring your tractor with bushhog, lawn mowers, cane knives, clippers, trash bags and gloves to help us make this property usable again. If you can’t physically participate, but would like to donate a piece of equipment, or provide food and/or drinks for the workers, then your generosity would be greatly appreciated. Through a partnership with the Washington Parish School Board, the Franklinton Dixie Youth Baseball League has obtained a lease agreement and will now be utilizing and maintaining the property. We need the community’s help to get started.
