On Wednesday, Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Det. Demmie Rice arrested Charles Michael Folse, 32, on multiple charges of sexual offenses against juveniles. The arrest involved a joint investigation with St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives, who are expected to charge Folse with similar offenses there, according to WPSO Chief Deputy Mike Haley.

Folse remains in the Washington Parish Jail charged with four counts of aggravated crime against nature, two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, sexual battery and two counts of failure to appear in court. No bond has been set at this time.

Folse has one previous stay in the Washington Parish Jail. In October of 2006, he was jailed for reckless operation of a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Haley said that due to the sensitive nature of this case, and in an effort to protect the juvenile victims as much as possible, additional details will not be released.

“Words are inadequate to express my emotions and depth of concern for the affected juveniles and their families,” Seal said. “Det. Rice handled this very sensitive matter with professionalism and dignity and I appreciate all she does to help protect families and children in our parish.”
