Runners and walkers, take your marks, as the 23rd annual Milltown Classic is set to take place on Saturday in Cassidy Park.
The money from the 5K run/walk benefits the Bogalusa Rotary Club.
“The money we raise is used for various activities for Rotary, including scholarship awards to local students,” race director Brad Lewis said. “It should be a good race. Runners are encouraged to come to the park early so they’ll be in line for the 7 a.m. start.”
Lewis said that polio is on the verge on being eliminated worldwide because of the efforts of Rotary.
The cost is $20 if you register by Thursday, June 27 and $25 after for most runners, although children under 12 can participate for $7.
There will be awards for each 10-year age group and each participant will get a T-shirt. Race-day registration will begin at 6 p.m., and the competition will start at 7 a.m.
