Franklinton senior Wyatt Verret is a 2019 Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association All-Region 10 player.
This is the second-straight year Verret has made the team. He made it as a utility player.
“I couldn’t have done it without my teammates and I couldn’t have done it without my coaches,” Verret said. “I couldn’t have had as many RBIs (runs batted in) without everybody getting on base. The coaches helped push me and move forward.”
This season, Verret hit .300 with a .409 on-base percentage, 17 RBIs and 14 runs scored. Verret did a good job of making contact, as he struck out just three times.
While at Franklinton, Verret pitched, played shortstop and second base, and saw time at catcher.
“He’s been a four-year starter,” Franklinton coach Jeff Tageant said. “I had him in the top of our lineup for three years. He’s very passionate about the game. He got after it. He started every game for four years and was a big part of our team.”
