Bogalusa comes up short in 2 close games Tuesday

Bogalusa’s Lumberjacks suffered a pair of losses by a combined six points in the Lakeshore Summer Basketball League on Tuesday at Fontainebleau.
The first game was a 51-50 loss to Fontainebleau in overtime.
Overtime was sudden death. Bogalusa had the ball twice, but turned it over twice. Fontainebleau won on a free throw.
Josh Taylor led the Lumberjacks with 18 points.
Jarvis Dawson posted 10.
Chance Turner recorded eight points while Quientay Henry had five, Raheem Roberts tallied three and Tony Harris, John Downey and Shadwick Gamble all posted two.
The next game was a 47-42 loss to Brother Martin.
Dawson had 10 points to lead Bogalusa.
Taylor recorded eight points while Gamble and Harris posted six each, Harris and Jahee Roberts put up four each and Turner and Sincere Craft added two each.
Bogalusa coach Randall Ginn said they played a lot of young players that game to evaluate them.
Bogalusa wraps up summer league play with games Tuesday and Thursday with two games each day at Fontainebleau High School.
The tip times are at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, Bogalusa plays Pearl River first and then and Bay High.
Two days later, the Lumberjacks start Thursday’s play against Covington and then PCA.
