Bogalusa went 1-1 in a pair of games in the Lakeshore Basketball League on Tuesday at Fontainebleau.
The first game was a 50-36 loss to Mandeville.
The game was tied at 25-25 at halftime.
“Great half of team offense and defense for us. Our best half of the summer,” Bogalusa coach Randall Ginn said. “Came out in second half trying to match 3-point shots with Mandeville, and that’s not what we should do.”
Josh Taylor led the Lumberjacks with 12 points.
Jarvis Dawson posted eight points while Chance Turner tallied six, Shadwick Gamble and Quientay Henry put up four each and John Downey added two for Bogalusa.
The next game was a 64-12 victory over Pearl River.
“Pearl graduated their best three players and have a new coach,” Ginn said. “We man pressed the first 10 minutes of the game then pulled it off the second 10 minutes of the first half. The score at half was 40-0. They are lacking a true ball handler. Their coach asked me to keep pressing them because they needed it, so we went to a zone press in the second half to get some work at it.”
Taylor topped Bogalusa with 14 points.
Gamble tallied eight points while Dawson posted seven, Turner, Henry, Downey and Tony Harris all recorded six, Raheem Roberts had four, Sincere Craft tallied two and Karry Conerly and Jahee Roberts added two each.
