Bogalusa went 1-1 in a pair of Lakeshore Summer Basketball League games that were each decided by six points at Lakeshore on Tuesday.
The first was a 48-42 loss to Loranger.
Chance Turner led the Lumberjacks with 14 points.
Josh Taylor posted 11.
Tony Harris recorded six points while Quientay Henry had four, John Downey put up three and Shadwick Gamble and Karry Conerly added two each.
The next game was a 42-36 victory over PCA.
Taylor topped the team with 12 points.
Turner had eight while Downey tallied six while Harris and Gamble posted four each, Jahee Roberts and Henry totaled three each, and Conerly added two in the victory.
“Wasn’t our best offensive night in either game,” Bogalusa coach Randall Ginn said. “Typical summer league, we were missing two starters. Missed five free throws versus Loranger, which would have counted for two points each. Had some tired kids in second game cause some had football weights that morning, a baseball scrimmage that afternoon and two summer basketball games that night. That’s rare all three sports will be on the same day this summer. My hats off to those kids for giving it their all.”
Lakeshore Summer League Basketball Games feature a pair of 20-minute halves. Games are played with a running clock until the one-minute mark when the standard clock-operating procedures are back in play. Players are one free throw for shooting fouls. The free throw counts for what the shot was worth.
Bogalusa is 2-2 this summer and continues play on Tuesday with games against Mandeville and Pearl River at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively. Both contests are at Fontainebleau High School.
