Mt. Hermon’s 4×100 relay team wins at District 7-B Meet

Mt. Hermon School’s 4×100 relay team won at the District 7-B Meet and three individuals recorded second-place finishes over four events at Broadmoor School on Wednesday.
Mt. Hermon ran the 4×100 in 49.95 seconds. The group featured Tristan Brumfield, Holden Kelly, Michquel Spears and Keondre Bunch.
Sticking with the relays, the 4×200 team was fourth with a time of 1 minute, 49 seconds. Mt. Hermon’s 4×200 team was the same as the 4×100. Runnels won in 1:42.
Three individuals were second across four events.
Bunch was runner-up in two events — the 100 meters and 200. He ran the 100 in 11.94 and the 200 in 24.86. Runnels John Spillane won both events — the 100 in 11.70 and the 200 in 24.47.
Spears took second in the 400 after clocking a 59.40. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy’s Connor James Dudoussat won in 58.68. Mt. Hermon’s Kaden Curole was eighth in 1:34.
Brumfield was second in the 300 hurdles after clocking a 48.37. Runnels’ Ryan Ly won in 47.86.
Wednesday’s meet was a qualifying meet. The top four finishers from each event advanced to the regional. The Region 3-B Meet will take place April 22 at McNeese State University.
Mt. Hermon has several other athletes headed to regionals.
Spears and Brumfield were third and fourth in the long jump with distances of 17 feet, 2.5 inches and 16-7.75. Maurepas’ Aiden Mccoy topped the event at 18-3.5.
Jeremy Bickham was third in the discus, javelin and shot put. He threw the discus 87-4, the javelin 121-8 and the shot put at 34-1. Holden’s John Sharp won the discus at 116-6.5. Teammate Cole Forbes bested the javelin 131-7. Kenner Discovery’s Jackson Turner won the shot put at 35-2. Mt. Hermon’s Davin Sandifer was eighth in the discus and javelin and ninth in the shot put. He threw the discus 74-8.5, the javelin 81-3.5 and the shot put 22-6.5.
Holden Kelly was ninth in the 800 with a time of 2:58. Dudoussat won in 2:12.
