Mt. Hermon falls to Runnels in district game

Mt. Hermon School’s Yellow Jackets suffered an 11-1 loss to 2018 state semifinalist Runnels in five innings during a District 7-B contest held Tuesday at home.
Runnels scored in the first to go up 1-0.
Mt. Hermon came back with a run in its half of first inning when Travell Brumfield walked, stole third and moved to third on a passed ball and scored Kam Brumfield’s RBI groundout.
Mt. Hermon trailed 2-1 through two innings before Runnels scored three in the third, four in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
Trey Brumfield doubled.
Colby Smith and Jordan Harrison were both hit by a pitch.
Byron Hyatt and Kenley Curole both walked.
Runnels is fifth in the unofficial LHSAA Division V power rankings.
