Franklinton’s Lady Demons posted a 2-1 record in the Live Oak Tournament that took place Friday and Saturday.
Franklinton won Friday’s game and then split games held on Saturday.
On Friday, the Lady Demons topped Springfield, 15-13 in eight innings.
Aleigha Fussell recorded three hits and four runs batted in.
Kierstan Allen tallied two hits, including a triple, with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Ashlan Ard doubled twice, drove in two runs and scored three runs.
Bailey Spears singled twice and scored two runs.
Brylie Fowler doubled, drove in a run and scored two runs.
Albanie Fussell singled and drove in a run.
Ashlyn Welch singled and scored two runs.
Laynea Stafford posted a hit and scored a run.
Missouri Varnado tripled.
Kassidy Nielson, Kayla Barclay and Meredith Rogers all scored one run.
Franklinton and Springfield had double-digit runs.
The Lady Demons jumped out to an 11-2 lead through one inning. Springfield outscored Franklinton, 11-2, in the fifth inning before adding a run in the sixth inning to tie the game at 13-13.
It stayed that way through the seventh inning, forcing extra innings.
Franklinton tallied a pair of runs in the eighth and held Springfield scoreless in the eighth inning for the 15-13 win.
Franklinton’s first game Saturday was a 10-2 loss to Dutchtown.
Spears singled twice and scored two runs.
Fowler singled and scored a run.
Welch drove in a run for the Lady Demons.
Franklinton trailed 2-0 through one before trimming it to 2-1 after 2-1/2 innings. Dutchtown posted the next seven runs with four in the third and three more during the fourth.
Each team plated one more run. Franklinton posted a run in the fifth and Dutchtown added one more in the sixth.
Franklinton came back from the loss with a 9-6 victory over West Feliciana.
The Lady Demons had eight hits with one coming from eight different players.
Fowler tripled and scored two runs.
Varnado doubled, had two RBIs and scored a run.
Ard singled, drove in two runs and scored a run.
Spears singled and drove in a run.
Allen, Aleigha Fussell and Albanie Fussell all singled.
Welch scored two runs while Barclay and Rogers tallied a run each.
Winning pitcher Aleigha allowed two earned runs over seven innings on seven hits with eight strikeouts and four walks.
Franklinton led 1-0 through an inning. West Feliciana took a 2-1 lead after two before the Lady Demons went back in front with three in the third to go up, 4-2. West Feliciana posted the next four runs with one in the fourth and three more in the fifth to go back ahead 6-4. Franklinton tallied the game’s final five runs with two in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
