Franklinton splits games this week

Franklinton’s Demons went 1-1 in games held Tuesday and Thursday.
Franklinton was defeated by 2018 Division III state runner-up St. Thomas Aquinas, 9-6, in a home game held Tuesday.
Nate Bracey went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs batted in.
Wyatt Verret tallied two hits with an RBI and a run scored.
Jalen Burkhalter recorded a hit and two runs driven in.
Richard Berry singled, scored three runs and had an RBI.
Jared Jenkins and Landon Keller scored a run each.
Franklinton led 6-2 through four innings, but St. Thomas Aquinas scored seven runs over the final three innings with five in the sixth and one each in the fifth and seventh.
The Demons bounced back from the loss on Tuesday by defeating Covenant Christian Academy behind a solid pitching performance from Garrett Maxwell.
Maxwell threw a complete game, allowing just one run on three hits with nine strikeouts and only one walk.
Offensively, Jenkins recorded a pair of hits.
Verret singled and drove in three runs.
Burkhalter doubled, drove in a run and scored a run.
Berry, Bracey and A.J. Magee all singed and scored a run.
Keller singled and recorded an RBI.
Jarrett Wyble scored a run for the Demons.
Franklinton trailed 1-0 through 2-1/2 innings. The Demons scored five unanswered runs, with two each in the third and sixth innings and one in the fourth, for the victory.
