Franklinton goes 2-1 in Ponchatoula Tournament

Franklinton’s Demons posted a 2-1 record in the Ponchatoula Tournament that took place March 1-2.
The opener was a 2-1 victory over Ponchatoula, as Nate Bracey was solid on the mound.
Bracey pitched a complete game three-hitter. He struck out three and walked just one.
The Demons recorded four hits on singles by Jalen Burkhalter, Wyatt Verret, Jared Jenkins and Trent Varnado. Burkhalter and Richard Berry scored a run each while Verret drove in a run in the victory.
The Demons split games last Saturday.
The first was a 10-8 win over Jewel Sumner.
Jenkins had two hits, including a double with an RBI and a run scored.
Burkhalter doubled, scored a run and drove one home.
Verret tallied a hit, two runs scored and a pair of RBIs.
Bracey singled and had a run batted in.
Jordan McKenzie doubled and scored a pair of runs.
Varnado singled and scored two runs.
Berry had a hit and a run scored.
Hunter Blackwell walked three times and drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.
Landon Keller drove in two runs and scored a run.
Verret was the winning pitcher. He allowed one unearned run on two hits with three strikeouts and a walk in two innings of relief.
Daylin Sigler started and went five innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
The final game was a 7-3 loss to Albany.
