Smith solid in start against 25th-ranked team

William Carey University senior Devin Smith was solid in his start Tuesday, as the Crusaders defeated No. 25 Louisiana State University-Shreveport, 10-2, at home.
The 2015 Mt. Hermon School graduate allowed just one run on two hits with three strikeouts, two walks and a hit batter in five innings of work.
Smith threw 85 pitches.
William Carey was scheduled to wrap up a three-game series on Saturday, March 2, with a doubleheader against fourth-ranked Faulkner University on the road.
