Pearl River’s baseball program has scheduled a party and all former Wildcats are invited.
Coach Michael Avalon announced Monday the program will hold its inaugural Alumni Day on Saturday, April 27 in conjunction with the No. 8 Wildcats’ doubleheader against Coahoma.
The day’s festivities will include brunch, an alumni home run derby at the newly renovated Dub Herring Park and a crawfish lunch in the right field lounge.
“I think alumni involvement is critical for the future and sustainability of our baseball program,” Avalon said. “We want guys to continue to be involved and proud of this program. We also want to use this weekend to showcase the improvements in the facilities and investments into the program since these members graduated.
“It’s always good to welcome former Wildcats back home.”
The Dub recently underwent a massive renovation, including the addition of 200 chairback seats, turf field and a new press box that includes two luxurious suites.
Any former Wildcats who are interested in participating are asked to RSVP at PRCCBaseballCamps.com. The price to participate in the Alumni Day fun is $25. Registration includes a limited edition T-shirt.
