Pine High School’s Caitlyn Polk
Caitlyn Polk is a senior at Pine and she plays softball.
Polk has played as catcher and as an infield utility player while on the Lady Raiders’ softball team. Polk was a first-team all-district player in her sophomore and junior seasons.
“She’s a hard-working good athlete,” Pine coach Matt Stogner said. “She does anything you ask of her. I think she’s an asset to the team and she’s a good leader,”
What do you enjoy most about playing your sport?
I love playing softball. It has allowed me to make new friends that I probably wouldn’t have met without playing the game. It’s also given me some of the best memories that I will never forget.
What do you like best about being a student athlete?
You develop more friendships. You bond more with your teammates, you learn one another better and it teaches you time management for your priorities.
Who has been the most influential person in your school sports career? Why?
My mom and dad Cole and Tanda Polk. They’re always there for me and tell me to always try harder and do my best.
Who is your favorite athlete? Why?
Former LSU softball catcher Sahvanna Jaquish. She’s so fun to watch. She loves the game and is dedicated to it so much. She’s such a good person.
Favorite team?
LSU softball.
Best thing about living in Washington Parish?
We’re such a small community that it makes us so close.
