Mt. Hermon School’s Byron Hyatt threw a no-hitter in a 23-0 five-inning victory over Independence on the road Monday.
Hyatt threw all five innings. He struck out 13 and walked five in the victory.

“He was on his game. His velo (velocity) was up and his breaker was sharp. If he continues to throw at that level, we should win several ballgames with him on the bump this year,” Mt. Hermon coach Matt Sessions said.

Kam Brumfield had a big day at the plate. He went 6-for-6 and missed a cycle by only a home run. Brumfield recorded two doubles, a triple, a stolen base and he drove in four runs.
Trey Brumfield recorded three hits in four at-bats, missing hitting for the cycle by only by a homer. Brumfield drew two walks, stole two bases and drove in three runs.
