Lady Eagles win 1-of-2 at South State

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Lady Eagles posted a 1-1 record in the Class AA South State Tournament that took place last week at Brookhaven Academy.
Ben’s Ford won its opener, 43-25, over Prairie View Academy on Feb. 12.
Kelci Freeman was the Lady Eagles with 19 points. She also pulled down three rebounds, dished out an assist and made four steals.
Valerie Paige just missed a double-double. She posted eight points, eight rebounds and she made three steals.
Celeste Crowe put up four points to go with 11 rebounds, an assist and five steals.
Bailey Stewart had three points, three rebounds and assist and three steals.
Alaina McClelland totaled three points, two boards, two assists and a steal.
Abby Smith recorded three points, two rebounds and two steals.
Dani Descant had three points.
Sylvia Rosa posted two rebounds while Baileigh Crain grabbed a rebound and made a steal and Kimberly Stogner and Karly McGee tallied a rebound each in the win.
Two days later, Ben’s Ford lost to Class AA South State runner-up Brookhaven Academy, 60-23, to cap off the 2018-19 campaign.
Crowe nearly had a double-double, going for nine points and eight boards to go with a steal.
Paige posted seven points and four boards.
Freeman had five points and two rebounds.
Stewart tallied a point, three rebounds and an assist.
Allie Jacobs had a point and a rebound.
Rosa pulled down two boards while McClelland blocked a shot and Smith had a rebound.
Lamar Christian School won the tournament with a 44-27 championship game victory over Brookhaven Academy.
