Franklinton comes up short in the playoffs

Franklinton’s Lady Demons came up short to Opelousas, 34-28, in the bi-district round of the Class 4A state playoffs on the road Thursday.
Danaria Magee and Addison Carter topped the 20th-seeded Lady Demons with seven points each.
Jalyn Bickham posted six points while Kaniya Dillon and Miriam Tate recorded four each.
No. 13 Opelousas advanced to the regional round and faced fourth-seeded South Terrebonne. South Terrebonne won the contest, 35-27, on Monday.
