Several local girls’ teams reach 2018-19 postseason

Four teams from Washington Parish reached the girls basketball playoffs.
Franklinton, Pine, Varnado and Mt. Hermon all reached the postseason.
All of the teams’ bi-district round games are on the road.
Class 4A Franklinton made the playoffs as the No. 20 seed. The Lady Demons will travel to face 13th Opelousas tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. The winner will play either fourth-seeded South Terrebonne or No. 29 Buckeye.
Pine is the 24th-seeded team in Class 2A and the Lady Raiders will be playing ninth-seeded Ferriday tomorrow at 6 p.m. The victor will then play against either eight-seeded Rayville or No. 25 Ville Platte.
Varnado is the No. 28 team in Class 1A. The Lady Cats will be playing fifth-seeded North Central tomorrow at 6 p.m. The winner will take on either No. 12 Jonesboro-Hodge or No. 21 Basile.
In Class B, 23rd-seeded Mt. Hermon will be going to No. 10 Hathaway tomorrow at 6 p.m. The winner face off against either seventh-seeded Choudrant or No. 26 Converse.
