Franklinton, Varnado compete in powerlifting meet at Salmen last week

Franklinton and Varnado competed in the Spartan Press Invitational last Saturday at Salmen. The Demons had two lifters capture their weight classes in Shimon Davis for the 132s and Shelton Jenkins in the 165s. Mason Givens had the highest bench press of the entire meet at 330 pounds.

Varnado’s T’Andrew Foster is pictured in the deadlift. Foster competed in a meet for the first time this season and was ninth for the 148-pound weight class during Saturday’s meet at Salmen. Foster totaled a 665 with a 215 squat, 175 bench and 275 deadlift.
