Franklinton’s Demons went 2-0 in District 8-4A games held Feb. 1 and Tuesday.
The Feb. 1 game was a 70-67 victory over Pearl River on the road.
T.Y. Pope led the Demons with 30 points.
Avant Monnie was next with 12 points and he made two 3-pointers.
Albert Browhaw recorded 11 points. He posted a 3-pointer.
Lavan Smith tallied eight points while Kian Conerly had seven and Lorenzo Hart and Cornelius Laurant added one each. Conerly had a 3-pointer in the victory.
Pope also came up big for the Demons in their 70-61 overtime victory over Salmen at home Tuesday.
Pope made a game-tying 3-pointer as time expired.
Pope had 33 points, with 20 coming in the second half.
The game was tied at 58-58 through regulation.
Monnie scored 11 points.
Browhaw, Conerly and Hart all tallied eight in the victory.
