Franklinton captures 2-of-3 close games

Franklinton posted a 2-1 record in games held between Jan. 18 and Jan. 23 in contests that were decided by three or fewer points.
The Demons came up short to Lakeshore, 62-59, in a home game on Jan. 18.
T.Y. Pope led Franklinton with 22 points. He made a pair of 3-pointers.
Kian Conerly was next with 13. Conerly made a 3-pointer.
Albert Browhaw posted 11 points. Browhaw hit a 3-pointer.
Lorenzo Hart and Avant Monnie had five points each while Duke Bell added two. Hart and Monnie were good on a 3-pointer each.
Lakeshore is 20-3 this season.
Franklinton won its next two games.
The first victory was a 74-73 over Pearl River at home Tuesday, as Pope had a big night.
Pope scored 30 points for the Demons. Conerly posted 16 points and he made four 3-pointers.
Browhaw and Monnie scored 12 points each, and Hart recorded four points.
After the loss, Pearl River fell to 16-5.
Franklinton continued its run of close games and defeated East Jefferson, 34-32, in non-district road action on Wednesday.
Pope led Franklinton once again with 23 points. Pope was successful on two 3-pointers.
Conerly tallied four points while Hart and Browhaw had three each and Lavan Smith added one in the victory. Hart made a 3-pointer.
