Varnado posts 2-1 record in recent games

Varnado’s Wildcats are 2-1 in their last three games.
Varnado defeated Mt. Hermon School, 76-61, in Thursday’s game at home.
Kim McGowan led Varnado with 18 points. He made four 3-pointers.
McGowan was one of four Wildcats to score in double-figures.
Brandon Lee posted 13 points.
Jaheim Hooks recorded 12 points and made two 3-pointers.
Javon Bickham tallied 11 points.
Trevon Haynes put up seven points while D’Myjay Bickham posted six, Jhaquawn McConnell put up five, Elizah Miller had four and Kevis Brooks added one in the win.
Michquel Spears led the Yellow Jackets with 20 points. He made five 3-pointers.
Tevin Williams recorded 16 points.
Tristan Brumfield and Jeremy Bickham tallied six points each while Keondre Bunch posted four and Travell Brumfield and LaQuarry Alexander added three each. Tristan Brumfield and made two 3-pointers while Travell Brumfield and Alexander had one each.
Varnado opened District 8-1A play the following day with a 66-51 victory over Covenant Christian Academy at home.
Hooks led the way with 17 points. Hooks made a 3-pointer.
Adrian Bickham posted 14 points.
Brandon Lee had 10.
McConnell recorded eight points while Javon Bickham posted six, McGowan tallied five, Brooks had four and Haynes added two. McConnell made a pair of 3-pointers while McGowan was successful on a shot from beyond the arc.
On Monday, Varnado lost to Pearl River, 62-55 at home.
McGowan and Lee tied to be Varnado’s leading scorers with 14 points each. McGowan made four 3-pointers.
McConnell posted 13 points that included three 3-pointers.
Haynes had four points while Javon Bickham and D’Myjay Bickham had three each and Hooks and Miller added two each. D’Myjay Bickham made a 3-pointer.
