With his team down by one with 11 seconds left, Mt. Hermon’s Keondre Bunch stole an inbounds pass and made the go-ahead layup, helping the Yellow Jackets capture a 57-56 win over Varnado at home Thursday.
Bunch tallied 13 points, which included a 3-pointer.
Tevin Williams led the Yellow Jackets with 17 points and he made a 3-pointer.
Michquel Spears posted eight points, while Jeremy Bickham had seven, Travell Brumfield recorded six, Kee’Yontreh Williams totaled four and Tristan Brumfield and Rashad Oatis added one each. Spears made a pair of 3-pointers while Travell Brumfield recorded one.
Brandon Lee topped Varnado with 18 points.
Kim McGowan had 13 points, which included a trio of 3-pointers.
Adrian Bickham had nine points while Javon Bickham and D’Myjay Bickham tallied five each, Jaheim Hooks recorded four and Trevin Haynes added two for the Wildcats. D’Myjay Bickham made a 3-pointer.
