Pine defeated by Salmen

Pine’s Raiders suffered a 9-1 loss to Salmen in a game held Tuesday on the road.
“They’re playing hard, they’re playing as a team, learning how to communicate, work together in that capacity. Definitely building for the future with this team and so things are looking great,” Pine coach Matthew Butcher said.
The Raiders got down 5-0 halfway through the first half.
The Spartans posted the first goal in the first minute when Tristen Pugmire scored on a penalty kick to make it a 1-0 game,
Pugmire made it 2-0 in the 10th minute after he got passed a defender and 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper and was successful on the shot for a 2-0 lead.
Pugmire made a centering pass to Theo Batista for the third goal during the 13th minute.
Honore Calera tallied the fourth goal in the 15th minute.
Salmen had a free kick that led to Pugmire posting a goal to make it 5-0 in the 20th minute.
Pine got on the board a minute later when Blaze Graves scored on a penalty kick for a 5-1 game.
Salmen added four more goals when Christian Passaro’s shot rebounded off of the keeper to Aaron Donarski, who scored for a 6-1 lead.
Carlos Paz tallied the next two. The second was off of a rebound.
Batista posted the final goal.
It was 9-1 at halftime and the eight-goal lead created the mercy rule that goes into affect after the first half if a team is up by eight or more goals.
Pine’s next game will be Tuesday on the road against Franklinton.
