Trio of local basketball teams play in Dunham Tournament

Three basketball teams from Washington Parish competed in the Team Sportsplex Thanksgiving Classic, hosted by The Dunham School, which took place Nov. 19-20.
Mt. Hermon’s boys tallied a 1-2 record while Pine’s boys and girls teams both went 0-3.
The Yellow Jackets, which played all of their games at the Team Sportplex, lost in their first game to the Church Academy, 65-54.
Tevin Williams was Mt. Hermon’s leading scorer with 18 points.
Michquel Spears posted eight while Rashad Oatis had seven, Travell Brumfield put up six and Tristan Brumfield, Kee’Yontreh Williams and Bunch all had five. Brumfield and Kee’Yontreh Williams hit a 3-pointer each.
Later that day, Mt. Hermon lost to Central Catholic, 90-44.
Spears led Mt. Hermon with 10 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers.
Tevin Williams posted eight points while Oatis and Jeremy Bickham recorded six each, Kee’Yontreh Williams had five, Travell Brumfield posted four, Keondre Bunch recorded four and Tristan Brumfield added two. Tevin Williams made a pair of 3-pointers while Kee’Yontreh Williams and Brumfield both made one.
Mt. Hermon was victorious over Family Christian Academy, 47-44, in the final game that took place Nov. 20.
Tevin Williams led the team with 15 points. Spears recorded 11 points, which included a 3-pointer.
Travell Brumfield had nine, Bunch tallied six and Oatis added two in the victory. Brumfield made a 3-pointer.
Pine’s boys team lost its first game to Runnels, 67-55, at the Team Sportsplex.
Jordan Anderson was the Raiders’ leading scorer with 21 points.
Tristan Jones posted 12 points and he knocked down three 3-pointers.
Markell Cotton tallied 10 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers.
Chance Woodward had nine and Larry Williams added three. Woodward was good on one 3-pointer.
Pine played a pair of games on Nov. 20.
The first contest was a 51-34 loss to Family Christian Academy at The Dunham School.
Anderson scored 10 points and hit a 3-pointer.
Jones posted nine points while Cotton recorded six, Karson Voth logged four points, Dae’von Gay posted three and Williams tallied two. Jones was successful on a 3-pointer.
Pine’s final game was a 76-42 loss to Livonia at the Team Sportsplex.

Voth scored four points while Coby Sheridan and Demontre Baham had three each and Cotton added one. Sheridan and Baham both made a 3-pointer.
Pine’s Lady Raiders, who played all of their games at the Team Sportsplex, suffered a 39-20 loss to Dutchtown in their opener that was Nov. 20.
On Tuesday, the team suffered losses to Episcopal and St. Michael the Archangel, 48-28 and 44-16, respectively.
