FHS Tournament begins today

The Franklinton Basketball Tournament tips off this afternoon, as 19 games will be played at Franklinton High School over the next four days.
The tournament features 18 participants, with eight local teams competing. Franklinton, Bogalusa, Pine and Varnado’s boys and girls teams will be playing in the annual event.
Today and tomorrow’s action begins at 3:30 p.m. and games are set to begin every 70 minutes. Friday’s play starts at 4 p.m. and games are played every 80 minutes. Saturday’s contests start at 10:30 a.m. and are set for every 75 minutes.
Today’s games start at 3:30 p.m., with Kentwood playing Slidell in a girls game. Varnado’s boys and girls play in the next two contests respectively. The boys game is against Pine at 4:40 p.m., followed by the girls facing Loranger. After that, Lakeshore and Amite play in a boys game with Pine and Bogalusa girls competing in the evening’s final game at 8:10 p.m.
Tomorrow’s games open up with Slidell and Varnado’s girls facing each other at 3:30 p.m. Loranger goes against Amite in a girls game. The final three games are boys contests. Bogalusa plays Varnado at 5:50 p.m., followed by Mandeville-Kentwood. Franklinton and Pine will compete in the final game that is scheduled to start at 8:10 p.m.
Friday gets underway with a 4 p.m. girls game between Slidell and Loranger. That will be followed by Pine and Mandeville boys at 5:20 p.m. The final two games are Franklinton-Bogalusa girls and boys, respectively at 6:40 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Saturday’s games will open up with Varnado and Pine girls at 10:30 a.m. Varnado-Lakeshore boys will follow in the 11:45 a.m. contest. Amite’s girls and boys will play in the next two games against Kentwood and then Mandeville, respectively, at 1 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. Franklinton’s boys will cap off the tournament with a game against Kentwood at 3:30 p.m.
