EMCC going for back-to-back national championships

East Mississippi Community College is going for back-to-back national championships.
The team is headed to Pittsburg, Kan., to play in the NJCAA eTeamSponsor Football National Championship tomorrow night at 7 p.m. against Garden City Community College.
A win would be the school’s fifth national title. The previous titles were in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2017.
The game will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.
EMCC has continued its roll of successful seasons with an 11-0 record and won its seventh state championship Nov. 10 with a 19-14 victory over Jones College. It was the school’s third-straight title.
East Mississippi Community College head coach Buddy Stephens, whose wife Robyn Douglas Stephens is from Bogalusa, has a career record of 109-13 (89.3 winning percentage) at EMCC. This is Stephens’ 11th season.
All of the state titles and national championships have been under Stephens.
Stephens is 11-0 in championship games.
EMCC is on a 16-game winning streak. Their longest winning streak under Stephens is 25 games.
