The overall winners from the Washington Parish Free Fair Race were from the same family.
George Donaldson was the overall male winner while Skylar Donaldson was the top female in the competition that took place Saturday, Oct. 20.
George Donaldson ran the 5K event in 19 minutes, 32 seconds for the victory.
Skylar Donaldson clocked a 24:10.
Race director John Burris, said it is the first time he remembers the man and woman overall winners coming from the same family in the fair race.
This year’s race had 100 runners.
Burris said that eight people said it was the first 5K they had ever run.
“The race was highly successful. The weather was hot and muggy. Because of that, the times were slower. We got what’s called a technical shirt, so the shirts were a big hit,” Burris said.
Dave Dessauer was the overall Masters male winner while Kal Roshto was the Masters female winner.
Jimmy Taylor was the top Overall Male Walker and Hope Bickham was the Best Overall Female Walker.
