Franklinton falls to Pearl River

Franklinton’s Demons suffered a 23-13 loss to Pearl River in the final regular season game that took place on Friday on Senior Night in District 8-4A competition.
“They came out and started fast and we responded, but we just didn’t have it that night,” Franklinton coach Jonathan Barber said.
Barber felt like the Demons moved the ball well all night, but just didn’t finish drives.
Mike Martin ran for 212 yards and two touchdowns, eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark for the season. He is at 1,128 yards and 17 touchdowns rushing.
Jasper LaSalle threw for 170 yards and ran for 20.
Duke Bell had seven catches for 60 yards.
Quaran Warren made a reception for 48 yards.
Shayland Allen had four receptions for 34 yards.
Kian Conerly recorded four catches for 21 yards.
Franklinton finished the regular season with a 4-6 record while Pearl River went 7-2.
Both teams are in the Class 4A state playoffs. Franklinton is the 30th-seeded team and the Demons will play against No. 3 St. Martinville (10-0). No. 13 Pearl River will be hosting 20th-seeded Franklin Parish (5-5).
