FHS’s Hartzog takes 15th in district meet

Franklinton’s Aden Hartzog was 15th in the District 8-4A Meet that took place Monday at Bogue Chitto State Park.
Hartzog ran the three-mile race in 22 minutes, 56 seconds.
Teammates Brandon Miller, Braxton King and Narcizo Sanchez were 22nd through 24th. Miller and King had times of 33:45, and Sanchez ran it in 43:26.
Lakeshore runners tallied the top four spots.
Brandon Shows captured the race in 18:32 by five seconds over Jake Leger.
Keith Bagent was third at 19:10, followed by Tyler Cancienne’s 20:12 and Salmen’s Mickyren Bentley, who ran a 20:29 to round out the top five in a race that featured 24 runners.
Lakeshore won the team event with 18 points.
Salmen was second at 43 and Pearl River was third with 70.
Teams needed five runners to qualify for team honors.
Up next for the Demons are the Metro Championships that will take place Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas.
