Pine’s Raiders captured a 32-28 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas in a District 9-2A home game held Friday.
“I thought that other than a kickoff return and a fumble that gave them a short field, I thought it was best game we played,” Pine coach Bradley Seal said.
Pine led 18-7 at halftime and 32-28 after three quarters before the teams played a scoreless fourth period.
The Raiders offense amassed 504 total yards in a balanced attack. Pine threw for 252 and ran for 252.
Logan Temples had a strong day throwing the ball. He was 12-for-20 for 252 yards and three touchdowns.
Markell Cotton caught six passes for 117 yards, Jordan Anderson made one catch for 75 yards, and Drake Westmoreland had a reception for 47 yards. All three recorded a receiving touchdown.
Jaheim Williams, Logan Lege, and Adrianuen Johnson led the ground game.
Williams had 96 yards running and a touchdown on 13 carries, Leger ran seven times for 94 yards and a score, and Johnson tallied 56 yards on 13 attempts for the Raiders.
Defensively, Dakota Brooks and Logan Leger intercepted a pass each. It was the second-straight game that Brooks had an interception.
Pine improved to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in district play. The Raiders will be on the road Friday, as they complete the regular season against Pope John Paul II.
The Jaguars are 2-7 overall and 0-6 in league play. Pope John Paul II lost to Northlake Christian School, 22-9, last week.
