Franklinton’s Demons suffered a 48-20 loss to Neville in a non-district game on the road Friday.
One of the big moments of the game came with a little over three minutes left in the first half.
Franklinton trailed 21-13 and faced fourth-and-2 from Neville’s 12. Franklinton was unable to covert the first down and Neville scored two touchdowns prior to halftime and took a 35-13 lead to the break.
“I thought our kids were ready to play,” Franklinton coach Jonathan Barber said. “I thought we competed and we played well. With that said, I don’t think we did some of the smaller things well. Our attention to detail has to be better.”
Jasper LaSalle threw for 198 yards and a touchdown.
The touchdown pass went to Duke Bell, who led the receivers with six catches for 65 yards.
Shayland Allen made five receptions for 62 yards.
Kian Conerly, Quaran Warren, Damien Ard and Caleb Brown all had one reception.
Conerly recorded 13 yards, Ard posted 18 and Brown had nine.
Warren also ran three times for 17 yards.
Conerly led the defense with four tackles.
Mike Martin ran 19 times for 62 yards. He also had two catches.
Corinthious Dickerson, Hayden Cotton and Grant Thomas all had three tackles. Justyn Miller recovered a fumble for the Demons.
Franklinton is 3-4 this season. The Demons will play all District 8-4A games for the rest of the regular season. Franklinton will be back in action Friday with a road game against Lakeshore.
