Franklinton’s Demons lost to Fontainebleau, 35-19, on the road Friday.
“We didn’t execute well early,” Franklinton coach Jonathan Barber said. “We kind of lacked some intensity early on. I talked to our kids early in the week about matching their intensity because they were going to come out hungry for a win. I have to do a better job of talking to the kids about that. Fortunately, we have our rival (Bogalusa) this week, so intensity won’t be a problem.”
Quarterback Jasper LaSalle went 10-of-20 for 147 yards and threw a touchdown. LaSalle also ran for 17 yards and a touchdown.
His touchdown pass was to Kian Conerly on an 83-yarder. Conerly also had 22 yards on the ground.
Duke Bell made four caches for 28 yards while Spencer Lambert made a reception for 16 yards and Mike Martin posted two catches for 10 yards.
Martin had a big game on the ground. He tallied 23 carries for 136 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Grant Thomas led the team with eight tackles.
Avant Monnie posted six stops.
Several Demons tallied five tackles, including Chase Sheridan, Noah Breland, Jacob Turnage and Carson Ragas.
Breland made a sack and recovered two fumbles. Monnie broke up two passes and caused a fumble and Terion Partman and Lamar Gray broke up a pass each. Turnage, Derek Shows and Ragas all caused a fumble.
Franklinton is 0-2 this season and will face 1-1 Bogalusa on the road Friday. The Lumberjacks lost to Chalmette last Friday, 50-20.
