Alice deLeon

Alice Dupont deLeon passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa. Born on Oct. 26, 1918, Mrs. Alice lived to be 99 years old.

As a long time resident of Bogalusa, she was a charter member of Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church. After graduating from nursing school, she worked in New Orleans at Charity Hospital during World War II.

She is survived by her son, Andrew H. deLeon Jr. and wife Linda C. deLeon; grandchildren, Melissa (David) Crain, Kevin E. (Amanda) deLeon, and Bradford A. (Laynette) deLeon; great-grandchildren David Crain, Emilia Tschen and Cecilia Tschen; and special nieces, Marguerite (Wade) Adams and Linda (Owen) Booth.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Andrew H. de Leon Sr.; her parents, John and Annie Dupont; and her brother, John Hayward Dupont.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until the funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Marcus Rosa will officiate. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westside Emmanuel Church or the Bogalusa Help Center.
