Colorado University defensive back Delrick Abrams had a solid debut for the Buffalos in a 45-13 victory over Colorado State University at home last Friday.
The 2015 Varnado High School graduate made nine tackles, including six solo tackles. The junior also had a tackle for a loss and a pass breakup.
Prior to going to Colorado, Abrams spent the last two years at Independence Community College in Kansas.
The Buffaloes held Colorado State to 284 yards of total offense. Colorado racked up 596 yards of total offense.
Colorado jumped out to a 28-10 lead at halftime.
It was 45-10 after three quarters. Colorado State added a field goal in the fourth quarter for the 45-13 final.
The Buffaloes’ season continues on Saturday, with a road game against Nebraska at 2:30 p.m. Central time. The game will be on ABC. Abrams wears No. 1.
Nebraska’s opener last week against Akron was cancelled, so this game is the Cornhuskers’ first game of 2018. It is also the first game for new Nebraska coach Scott Frost, who previously coached undefeated Central Florida in 2017.
