Demons wrap up summer baseball with pair of wins

Franklinton concluded summer baseball play with a pair of victories over Albany, 8-6 and 9-2, at home Tuesday.
In the opener, which was the 8-6 game, Jake Bracey recorded a hit, two RBIs, a walk and a run scored.
Connor Tullos posted a hit to go with an RBI, two runs scored and two walks.
Noah Breland tallied a hit, walked and scored two runs.
Bradlee Davidson posted a hit, two walks and a run scored.
Alex Fussell coaxed four walks and scored a run.
Jeffrey Slaugher and Evan Mason Magee both walked and scored.
Ben Bickham posted a hit, a run, he drove in a run, walked and got hit.
Three players pitched for Franklinton, including Breland, Tullos and Slaughter.
Richard Berry had a big day in the second game, which was the 9-2 contest.
Berry tallied four hits that included a double, an RBI and he scored four runs.
Jared Jenkins also had a solid day, with two hits that included a double, three RBIs, a walk and a run scored.
Landon Keller had two hits, two RBIs, two stolen bases and a run scored.
Jordan McKenzie posted two hits that included a double, along with two runs scored and a walk.
Zavion Magee had two hits that included a double and two runs scored.
Trent Varnado posted two hits, got hit twice and drove in a run.
Garrett Maxwell threw three innings while Davidson and Wyatt Verret threw two each.
“Last game of the summer. Ended up on a good note. Thought we played well,” Franklinton coach Jeff Tageant said.
Tageant said the Demons did well during summer baseball.
“Weather got us in a couple games, but we had a productive summer,” Tageant said. “The kids played hard. We saw a lot of things we were looking for. We were able to make a lot of evaluations.”
