MANDEVILLE — Bogalusa was victorious in both of its games and Franklinton posted a 1-1 record in the Thursday’s action of the Lakeshore/Mandeville Summer League at Lakeshore.

“You could tell by being there how excited they were about beating Franklinton.
They beat us by 30 earlier this summer and we had a co-practice earlier this week and they beat us by 20,” Bogalusa coach Randall Ginn said. “It kind of helps us get over that mental block to beat them. We realize it’s just summer league, but it’s important to our kids’ self-confidence.”
Ginn said they knew coming in that his team has great athletes and great team speed.
“We’re trying to turn them into skilled basketball players and they’re starting to understand the system,” Ginn said.
Taylor led Bogalusa with 17 points. Jalen Brickmore posted 10. Powell tallied six points while Spikes recorded five, Chadwick Gamble had four, Tony Harris posted three and Raheem Roberts added two in the victory.
