McGriggs captures Milltown Classic

Raymond McGriggs was victorious in the 22nd annual Milltown Classic.
McGriggs ran the 5K race that took place in Cassidy Park on Saturday, May 19, in 21 minutes, 28 seconds to finish first overall.
Remy Lambert was second with a time of 25:42 and Jason Creel took third in 26:05.
The top female finisher was Toni Seal, who ran the event in 27:36. Seal was ninth overall.
Elizabeth Owens was next in 28:16 and Jamie Grove was third for females after clocking a 28:25.
Owens and Grove were 10th and 12th overall, respectively.
Katie Page was the top walker. She completed the event in 38 minutes.
The race is a fundraiser to benefit the Bogalusa Rotary Club. The club uses the money to give out scholarships and to fund other service projects.
This year’s race featured 38 participants.
Race director Brad Lewis said the race was again a success.
“It was a nice day. It was a good day for racing,” he said. “We had young children and teenagers and all age groups running. It was a good success.”
