The coaching staff for the 12th annual Sports Works Academy Basketball Camp has been set.
The camp directors are 1985 Bogalusa High School graduate Michael Galloway, along with Nikita Wilson.
Galloway is a former all-district performer 1983-85 with Bogalusa High School.
Wilson is a former player with LSU from 1983-87. He was chosen for the all-decade team for the 1980s and was drafted 31st overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 1987 NBA draft.
Murrell Galloway is the coaching staff captain.
Galloway is a 1981 Bogalusa High School graduate and was a four-year starter with Bogalusa from 1978-81.
The rest of the staff includes New Orleans Sports Hall of Famer Terrence Jones, William Carey forward Ereyanna Magee and former University of New Orleans guard Theron Cojoe.
Michael Galloway praised the group.
“We’re really excited about this coaching staff,” he said. “We’ve got Terrence back. This is his sixth time at the camp. We’ve got Ereyanna back for the third time and we’ve added Theron Cojoe, a former Destrehan and UNO player. We’re really excited about this year. We’ve had some great feedback this year from parents in the area and we’re hoping for a record turnout. We’ve had parents volunteer to spread the word about the camp.”
The clinic will take place on Saturday, June 16 at the Bogalusa YMCA. Registration gets underway at 8:30 a.m. and the camp begins at 9 a.m. The cost is $20 per participant.
