Franklinton’s golf team qualified for the state meet in the Division II Region II Golf Tournament that took place Tuesday at Grand Ridge Golf Club in Luling.
This is the third team in school history to qualify for the state tournament and finish in the top 10 in the state.
Teams that finished in the top four at regionals and the top four individual golfers that were not on a state qualifying team advanced to state.
Franklinton was fourth in the regionals with a 371. The top four golfers’ scores from each team were used to determine the team total.
Brett Bryant led the Demons with an 84.
Dillen Reeves was just two strokes back. Kaleb Mizell posted a 90 while Grant Thomas had a 111 and Andrew Schilling recorded a 125.
The state tournament takes place in Lafayette on Monday and Tuesday.
