FHS competes at state

Franklinton’s tennis team competed in the Division II state meet that took place at the University of Louisiana at Monroe on Monday.
The team was unable to win any matches, but completed a season that saw three singles players and two teams of doubles advance to the state meet after qualifying at regionals.
In the boys’ singles, Josh Gubert lost his match, 6-0, 6-2 while Jacob Smith was defeated, 6-0, 6-0.
In the girls’ singles, Yvone Tran was defeated, 6-0, 6-0.
In boys’ doubles, the team of Raif Branch/Aaron Ignacek lost, 6-0, 6-1.
In girls’ doubles, the team of Abby Thomas/Mackenzie Angelo were defeated, 6-2, 6-0.
