The Bogalusa Little League opens up the 2018 season tomorrow at the Avenue U Park.
“We’re excited about this being our 40th year,” Public Relations Officer Dana Walker said. “We’re the only chartered little league in Washington Parish. Our president this year is attorney Kelvin D. May and he grew up in Bogalusa Little League. He started playing in T-ball and he is now coaching his son.”
Opening ceremonies take place at 9:30 a.m. and the games begin an hour later.
Bobby Ford will be throwing out the first pitch.
Ford volunteer coached for Bogalusa Little League for 30 years and retired a couple of years ago because of his health. He began volunteer coaching in 1985 and eventually became a board member until he retired.
Ford will be throwing to Floyd Timmons.
