Bogalusa’s Chatmon is 2nd-team all-district player in 7-3A

Three Bogalusa Lady Jacks were recently named All-District players in the 7-3A league.
Shaunte Chatmon was picked for the second team.
Quantasia Lewis and Chloe Foster are all-district honorable mention players.
This season, Bogalusa reached the playoffs as the No. 31-seeded team. The Lady Jacks lost to second-seeded and eventual state champion Loranger, 77-39, in the opening round. Loranger defeated fifth-seeded Madison Prep, 42-38, in overtime to win the title.
Loranger’s JaMya Mingo-Young is the district’s Most Valuable Player and Albany Camryn Woods is the league’s Defensive MVP.
Loranger’s Sean Shields is the District 7-3A Coach of the Year.
Woods is joined by teammate Natalie Kelly on the first team. The rest of the top-team’s players are Jewel Sumner’s Amya Brumfield and Loranger teammates Linsey Ard and Sydney Rivers.
Besides Chatmon, the rest of the second team includes, Lorangers Desreal Schnyder, Albany’s Mahogany Williams, Jewel Sumner’s Alacia Brown and Archbishop Hannan’s Kennedi Martin.
Besides Lewis and Foster, the rest of the honorable-mention all-district players are Loranger’s Carley James, Kiana Foster and LuLu Hookfin, Archbishop Hannan’s Catherine Chuter, Albany’s Layla D’Fonseca, Tristan Miles and Devyn Hoyt and Jewel Sumner’s Tykayla Robertson, Nakeah Sims, Jakeria Norman and Jayla Hayes.
Albany reached the postseason as the No. 6 seed, but lost to Loranger, 65-49, in the state semifinals.
Jewel Sumner was the No. 32 team, but suffered a 70-21 loss to top-seeded South Beauregard in the opening round. South Beauregard made the semis, but lost to Madison Prep, 57-44.
Hannan made the Division II postseason as the No. 19 team, but lost to 14th-seeded St. Michael the Archangel, 51-32. St. Michael made the regionals, but suffered a 55-23 setback to eventual state champion, third-seeded Ursuline Academy.
