FHS finishes 4th in Wednesday’s meet

Two local athletes and a relay team finished second for individual events, in the Cowboy Relays that were held on Wednesday at Jewel Sumner.
Franklinton teammates Porsha Delatte and Yvone Tran were second for their events.
Delatte was runner up in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 54.06 seconds. Teammate Drahcir Magee was fifth at 59.89. West Feliciana’s Kennedy London won the event in 48.15.
Tran was second for the 3,200 at 15 minutes, 43 seconds. Sumner Middle’s Madison Parfait won in 13:25.
Franklinton’s 4×100 relay team was the runner-up, with a time of 53.17. Franklinton’s runners were Jalyn Bickham, Kassidy Nielson, Raelyn Gross and Delatte.
West Feliciana won the event in 51.67.
Bogalusa and Franklinton were the only teams from Washington Parish that were in the meet.
Wednesday’s meet had several locals come in the top six for their events.
Delatte ran third in the 100 hurdles, with a time of 18.17. London won the event in 15.34.
Franklinton’s Miriam Tate was third in the javelin with a throw of 83 feet, 4 inches. Teammate Danaria Magee was fifth at 75-5. Port Allen’s Jordyn Mitchelle won at 89-8.
Franklinton’s Gross took third in the 100 with a time of 13.49. Loranger’s Kiana Foster, who won the Outstanding Track award, won in 12.51.
Drahcir Magee was fourth in the high jump after clearing the bar at 4-6. West Feliciana’s Destiny Mitchell won at 5-0.
Gross took fifth in the triple jump at 31-0. Port Allen’s Attlaka Follins won at 35-9.
Tran was fifth in the 1,600 with a 6:39. Jewel Sumner’s Abby Hodges won in 6:05.
Nielson was fifth in the 200 with a time of 29.15. Foster was victorious in 25.65.
Drahcir Magee was sixth in the long jump with a distance of 13-4.5. Kentwood’s Lakirsta Johnson won at 17-7.
In the relays, Franklinton was third in the 4×200 after completing the race in 1:55. The group consisted of Bickham, India Dickerson, Tamirria Thomas and Delatte.
West Feliciana won the race in 1:51.
Port Allen’s Emily Nichols won the Outstanding Field award.
West Feliciana won the team competition with 133 points. Nine teams posted points in the event.
Port Allen was second was second with 106, followed by Kentwood’s 67, Franklinton’s 65 and Jewel Sumner’s 52.
Bogalusa was ninth, with six points.
