Pine golfers take top 2 spots at Oak Knoll Country Club

HAMMOND — Pine’s Tanner McKenzie and Brent Barber took home the top two spots in Monday’s competition at Oak Knoll Country Club.
McKenzie won the nine-hole event by recording a 40.
Barber was just a stroke behind at 41 to finish second, with 25 golfers participating.
St. Thomas Aquinas’ Tim Tran was third with a 45, followed by Archbishop Hannan’s Joe Strohmerey’s 46 and St. Thomas Aquinas’ Hayes Daigle’s 47 to round out the top five.
Archbishop Hannan won the team competition with a 206.
The top four golfers from each school determined team scores.
Four teams qualified for team honors.
Pine was second with a 218, followed by Doyle’s 219 and Springfield’s 227.
Also for Pine, McCauley Keaton posted a 65 and Jyrais Robinson recorded a 72.
Archbishop Hannan won the girls competition with a 109.
Two golfers were needed to qualify for team honors, and there were two teams who qualified. Pine posted a 141.
Archbishop Hannan’s Abby Elliot won individual honors with a 53, with five golfers competing.
Teammate Abby Potrament was second with a 56, followed by Macy Mentz’s 58.
Pine’s Breelee Barber posted a 70 and teammate Dalanna Rester had a 71.
The group is back in action on Tuesday, April 10 at Franklinton Country Club.
