Demons post 1-1 record in games held earlier this week

Franklinton’s Demons posted a 1-1 record in games held Tuesday and Thursday.
On Tuesday, the Demons defeated Pine, 9-2, on the road.
Richard Berry had a solid day at the plate, recording three hits, two runs scored and a run batted in.
Ashton Cocoran, Wyatt Verret and Landon Keller all had two hits.
Cocoran scored a run. Verret doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run.
Nate Bracey, Trent Varnado, J.P. Magee and Raisean Hart all had one hit.
Bracey scored a run. Varnado scored two runs and had an RBI.
Jordan McKenzie drove in two runs for Franklinton.
Verret threw four shutout innings of no-hit ball for the win. Verret struck out three and allowed no walks.
Pine had five hits.
Kendall Sheridan, Kaden Fersch, Luke Fonda, Ian Turner and Logan Leger all had one hit.
Sheridan and Turner scored a run each. Fonda drove in a run.
On Thursday, Franklinton suffered a 7-6 loss to Fontainebleau at home, after allowing four runs in the sixth inning.
Richard Berry led the Demons at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Verret and Keller posted two hits each. Verrett had two runs scored and Keller tallied a run.
Cocoran, Bracey, Varnado, Magee, Hart and McKenzie all had one hit.
Bracey, Varnado and Hart all tallied a run each. Magee posted an RBI on a sacrifice fly and he put down a sacrifice bunt. McKenzie drove in a run.
“We gave up the lead for the third time this year late in the game against a good team. We have to find a way to cut down on unearned runs late in the game,” Franklinton coach Jeff Tageant said.
