FHS competes in regionals

Franklinton’s Lady Demons competed at the South Regional Meet that took place at Pope John Paul II on Friday.
Briana Nesbitt and Jewel Vincent were 12th and 13th respectively in the 148-pound weight class. Nesbitt combined to lift 400 and Vincent had a 280 between the squat, bench and deadlift. Nesbitt squatted 150, benched 80 and deadlifted 170. Vincent tallied a 90 squat, 45 bench and 145 deadlift.
Slidell’s Ayrianna Edwards won the weight class with a 745.
Camryn Jordan was eighth in the 165s. She had a 550 total with a 200 squat, 115 bench and 235 deadlift.
Covington’s Joscelyn Collins won at 795.
Deborah Brewster and Erin Mitchell were fifth and sixth in the super heavyweight division, with a 525 and 435, respectively. Brewster squatted 170, benched 105 and deadlifted 205. Mitchell posted a 160 squat, 70 bench and 205 deadlift.
Slidell’s Karmyn King, who was the Outstanding Lifter for the Heavy Platform, won with a 1,085.
Covington’s Alyzza Stann, who won the 132s with an 880, was the Outstanding Lifter for the Light Platform.
Slidell won the meet with 62 points.
Covington was second with 51, followed by Northshore’s 17, Lakeshore’s 16 and Pope John Paul II with 14, among the eight teams that posted at least one point. Franklinton was eighth with one point.
